Grace and peace in the name of Christ,
When a child or an adult is baptized, our service of Holy Baptism concludes with the congregation saying these words, “We welcome you into the Lord’s family and as a fellow member of the body of Christ and children of the same heavenly Father.” As you view this website about Trinity Lutheran Church, I hope and pray that you sense a welcoming presence among this people of God. All are welcome here as a part of God’s family even as Jesus welcomed and accepted all in his teaching and his ministry.
If you are new to the Trinity community, if you are seeking to know more about this faith community or if you have been around for awhile; may you see here the good news of Jesus Christ in all we are called to become in our ministry and mission.
Our ministry and mission is grounded in the Gospel – the good news of Jesus Christ – and rooted in Word and Sacrament – God’s gifts of grace. The history of the church is diverse and multi-layered and speaks to an openness to grow in faith and commitment in that grace of God. Each generation of followers envisions the hope of our calling as a Christian community and a Lutheran presence which brings the good news of Christ to our cities, towns, and families.
We look forward to the opportunities to bring our mission statement to fruition. We see our future in our present ministry that “For the love of God we will continue to grow in worship, nurture, service, witness, and celebration of the cross and resurrection – of the presence of Jesus Christ in our lives.”
We welcome you then to share in our mission and ministry in the good news of Christ. We welcome you to become a part of this vision and humbly ask that you pray for our ministry. We are all God’s children who know well the words of Jesus: “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for, in them, is the life of God.”
We welcome then each of you – a child of God – as we have been accepted and welcomed by God in the water, Spirit, and Word of Holy Baptism.
In the loving embrace of Jesus,
Pastor Paul Wheeler
